Medium Obe-Ata Made The Shortlist

Following my previous post, do you remember I had entered my Medium strength Obe-Ata into the Free From Food Awards and as you can see in the picture, my Medium Obe-Ata made it onto the short list in the Almost Free From All Allergens category. Having a second strength from my range of Obe-Ata being short listed by the Free From Food Awards is so encouraging.
The judges get to taste the product as is, you can also provide a recipe if the product can be used for cooking which Obe-Ata can. I was not too sure what recipe to submit because of the unique versatility of Obe-Ata, you can literally create hundreds of different dishes. I had so many recipes to choose from! From Nigerian dishes such as Jollof Rice to spicy meatballs or even a vegan chickpea and kale coconut curry.
I was going to submit my African Peanut stew recipe but my teenager wisely said, "Mummy why don't you submit the Shakshuka recipe instead, you need to show the taste off. I loved it when you made it with some plantain on the side." She was right, you do get to taste Obe-Ata more in Shakshuka more than in the African Peanut stew, also the Medium Obe-Ata strength has a really nice spice level which is perfect for Shakshuka. Oh, and she mentioned plantain. Everyone loves plantain!
I was a bit nervous because the chefs that trial the recipes cook the dishes following the instructions from the contestants. Obe-Ata for this recipe was perfect for building up your textures and flavours. The results are published 8th June. See the next post to see if I won. Thanks for stopping by. Toyin x
